A Dream
MKC drifted into my dreams a day or so ago. It was a marvelous dream. Truly inspirational.
MKC was able to buy a building. It was a semi-old building made of brick and very classic in style. We decided that we needed to really make MKC a reality not just for the group but for everyone.
So in this old building of ours that we bought we pulled together all our money and turned it into a cafe theatre. This building had a screen (not a large one, about halfe the size of an actual theatre), wire tables and chairs with cushions. Just really classical looking things. Lamps (and actual lamposts) that we’re also classical in look. Their where pictures of films we had done on the wall in very decorative frames.
The sitting area had tables and chairs just like a diner except this place was setup like a theatre so their were “platforms” ( kinda like the steps in a theatre) that went up level after level. Each platform consisted of 2-3 tables with frames and flowers. Then at the top their we’re some regular theatre seats (just one row) that people could sit in.
Their we’re menus that consisted of snacks (not full course meals) and snack bar thing where people could get popcorn if they wished. There we’re also waitresses going around to each table.
There were mixes of kids and adults everywhere. THIS IS THE COOL PART! The thing all these people came to see were home videos made by everyone. Just regular kids with a cameras could film a movie and turn it into us. We would look it over and out out side we would show the title of the movies playing that day.
So those who made films could see how an actual audience would react to their film. IT WAS SO COOL. How cool would that be if we could do that now? Even better people could check out equipment that MKC owned so that they could make a film. The people in the building that we’re watching films could then critique each film through screens that we’re on each table, voting for which one they liked.
You could also go to the website of ours and look at films that we’re going to be played, check out equipment, and buy merchandise. One of the greatest things is MKC was non-profit. The money they made in the theatre and through merchandise went straight back into the funds for equipment and bills. It was such a cool dream. MKC gave the chance for young kids to chase after their dreams in film making and promoted kind critiquing fellowship.
God I hope that dream comes true one day,![]()
