I will Surely Die

Nov

“Come with me”, He says,
Battle by my side.

“Battle with Thee I cannot.
I will surely fall and die.”

Come with me,” He says,
I’ll protect thy life.

“Battle with Thee I cannot.
They hath many swords and knives.”

Come with me,” He says,
My Armor will suffice.

“Come with Thee I cannot
Thy servant will not fight!”

As He rode off to victory
Tears flooded my eyes.
For the only reason I did not go,
Was that I had joined the other side.
